Forking a page is a way to make changes to a page without editing the original, essentially creating a copy of another page. This is the core of federated wiki and is where the collaboration aspect of it comes in.
Forking someone else's page, which creates a local copy -> Making your changes -> Reaching out to the original person -> Them accessing the changes -> Forking it back to their wiki.
- To fork a page, click on the flag at the bottom of the page to the left of the + symbol.
- To fork another site's pages, go to the other URL and on the search bar, drag the encryption lock onto your fed wiki site and click on the flag symbol to fork.
- To unfork a page, click on the sun icon in the recent edits, which is the creation on the page, and fork that earlier version. This deletes a local copy of the page. Deleted pages go to Recycled Pages.
